Can the first FinchStory launch explain what is happening?
This release group focuses on first-run setup, Runtime installation, and consistency across execution modes so new users have less to guess and everyday sessions behave more predictably.
Yes. Runtime installation now shows progress and offers direct retry, scrolling and reasoning behavior are more consistent across modes, and image recovery and failure details are more dependable.
Installation is no longer a black box
First-run setup now shows Runtime installation progress. If something fails, you can retry directly instead of restarting the whole flow. The OpenAI path also installs only the Codex Runtime it actually needs.
Different modes feel more alike
Loop, Codex, and Pi now follow more consistent rules for scrolling, auto-follow, and reasoning presentation, so switching modes feels less like switching interfaces.
Image failures are easier to understand
Images recover more reliably when they leave the viewport and later return. When loading fails, clearer failure details can be expanded.
