Can you go straight to a file’s location in Finder?

The short answer

Yes. The file action menu now includes “Show in Finder” beneath “Open File,” so you can locate the file without manually searching through folders.

Find the original file from its action menu

Open a file’s action menu and choose the new location action below Open File. Finder opens at the corresponding file location.

Opening a file and finding its location are separate actions

Choose Open File when you want to view it, or the Finder location action when you want to organize, move, or locate it.
