Yes. You can expand the recorded steps of an interrupted task to review what happened before it stopped. Viewing that history does not run the task again.

Even if a task did not finish, you can return to its recorded steps and see what had already happened.

Opening the history is only for reviewing previous activity; it does not restart the original task.
