Can you upload and crop an account avatar exactly the way you want?
These releases turn the account avatar into something you can actually personalize: upload an image, crop it, preview it, and confirm before anything changes.
The short answer
Yes. You can upload PNG, JPEG, or WebP images, then reposition and zoom them in a 1:1 crop preview. Nothing changes until you confirm, and cancelling keeps the existing avatar.
Choose the image first, then decide how it should look
After upload, a 1:1 preview lets you drag and zoom the image, so you do not need to pre-crop it into a square.
No confirmation means no unwanted change
You can cancel at any point. The account avatar updates only after confirmation, and the edit control stays out of the way until hover or focus.
Each account keeps its own avatar
Avatars are stored separately per account instead of overwriting one another, with an optimized image generated for the interface.
